What To Expect When You're Expecting Renatus To Be Open Empty What To Expect When You're Expecting Renatus To Be Open

Hey, gang! We've got a lot of new people coming in, in addition to the returning veterans from our previous server, so I figured now might be a good time to go over the guidelines of how a typical session of Renatus will typically unfold.

When one of the Operators (also referred to as Ops Team, Moderators or Mods) decides to host, they will typically sign in as their own gamer tag first, or sign onto X-Box.com to see if RenatusXMC is signed on with another Mod. If not, they will sign in. They then need to make sure that the save file is as up to date as possible. During downloading of the save file, we have a policy to not interrupt the download in order to make sure that nothing happens to the file. This means that for the first 10-15 minutes we will often not respond to invite requests, party requests, chat requests, etc. Do not take it personally, it is for everyone's protection to make sure we don't lose our hard work.

Once he is satisfied with the stability and safety of the immediate environment, the Mod will create an X-Box Live Party.

Parties are invite only, as is the game, which is also set to friends only (we remind new players that if your friends want to come with you, they must apply and be approved just like you did!). Once you see RenatusXMC is in a party, you can send a message over X-Box live requesting an invite to the party. If there is room in the server (we have an 8 player limit thanks to X-Box, sorry) you will be invited to the party and game. Due to the high number of players, we do not send invites out unless they are requested.

Once in the game, have fun! Make sure to follow all rules, and listen to the moderators. We are all looking to make sure that EVERYBODY has fun, so if we tell you not to do something, it's not just to be mean, it's for a reason.

Moderators will try to announce auto-saves as they occur. We are human and sometimes we miss them, so forgive us if you're in mid step and the game jumps to the save screen!

There are occasional lag issues. When a game kicks a player out, we will usually see the message before the player is even aware of it. If someone asks you if you meant to leave, it's because you've left! If this happens and you intend to stay, we will send another invite once you get back to the dashboard. But at the same time, if you're leaving, please let us know, so when you do exit the game, we don't send another invite thinking you lagged out.

Moderators will try to give a one auto-save (30 minute) cushion when announcing shut down, to give your character time to get to a safe place, finish that build you're doing for your house, etc. Occasionally we will allow players to finish off a build and then manually save for the final save. Ask nicely, you may get your wish! Please keep in mind, Mods here are people like you, and we have real life events to attend, so even if you want to stay and play, we may not be able to keep the game running for as long as we want to. Once we hit lotto and are getting paid to keep this server up 24-7, that's when we can start fielding complaints about down-time! Very Happy

Once the mod shuts down, even if there is another mod willing to take over hosting, there is a significant time delay while the cloud synchs up. Please be patient and understanding as we work to try and keep the server up as long as possible.

Above all else... be good to each other. Even though this server allows PvP, has quests which encourage being the first to find, and everyone has to fend for themselves, we at Renatus take pride in the fact that first and foremost, we are all a community. Do not harass other players mercilessly. If you're chasing someone towards a safe zone, and they're close, let them go (you may get them at a later date when they have more gold! HAHAHA!) Do not violate the rules, and don't go against the spirit of the game just to get ahead. If you want to break into a house and steal possessions, there are villages on just about every map you generate, go loot from one of them. Our primary goal here is to have fun for everyone. That being said, right now almost the entire map is PvP, so don't go out of the cities unless you're ready to defend yourself!

    That's it! Have fun!
